The problem

A member finances a car at a dealership, and your credit union ends up holding the loan. They never open checking, never think of you as their credit union, and when the loan pays off, they're gone.

The same thing happens with the member who only ever had a savings account or a card.

We hear it from credit unions all the time: getting that member to a second product is hard, and it matters more now that deposits are harder to grow.

The challenge isn't that you don't have anything else to offer. You already have the products: a CD special, a card, a checking package. The harder part is knowing which member is ready for which one, and reaching them at the right time.

What P1FCU did

P1FCU in Idaho took this on.

They gave every member a score for the product they were most likely to open next, then used those scores to choose which offer each member saw when they logged in to P1FCU's mobile app or website.

Steven Reed from P1FCU will join us to explain what they did, what it took inside the credit union, and what he'd do differently.

The conversation

This roundtable will be a 60-minute off-the-record session with other credit union leaders. Tomer Borenstein, BlastPoint's Co-Founder and CTO, will lead the conversation around three questions:

  1. How many products does your average member hold, and where do members stall, especially the ones who came in through a dealer?

  2. What have you tried to get those members to open a second product, and what happened?

  3. What would the person who owns this on your team need to show your CEO or CFO to make it a priority?

In this roundtable, you'll hear

  • How P1FCU used next-product scores to decide which offers members saw in online banking.
  • What members actually opened in the first two months: about 114 CDs and 9 credit cards.
  • What it took inside P1FCU to make it work, and what Steven would change.

You'll leave with a better sense of how P1FCU went from member scores to opened accounts, what other credit unions are trying, and how other credit unions are thinking about the same problem.

This is an exclusive roundtable for marketing, strategy, and member experience leaders who own member growth.
